I love Bradly Cooper and Lady Gaga, so I was so excited to see this movie! I‚(TM)ve seen the 1950‚(TM)s and 1970‚(TM)s versions and fell in love with the story. But was grievously disappointed with this last remake! The music was amazing which was no surprise and the best part of the movie! I‚(TM)ve just come to the conclusion that if the 2018 remake of a Star is Born was aiming to be relevant for the times we‚(TM)re living in, it was successful. The focus on the love story was interrupted with going into family disfunction and rehab (relevant today), then the choice of how Jack ended his life was not the least devestating or loving way it could have been done! 1950‚(TM)s he disappears into the ocean to end his life, 1970‚(TM)s away from their home, he drives wrecklesly too fast and ends his life. Both of these left their home so the love of their life wouldn‚(TM)t find them in the worst possible way! That she would never be able to forget, which was not loving!
The 60‚(TM)s and 70‚(TM)s versions were tragic and left you tearful and sad! The 2018 remake left me sickened. It didn‚(TM)t lead me into a beautiful, unlikely love story. It was rather a commentary of the times we live in. No Thank You!!!!
